We love this caramel sauce and use it for so many things— but it’s a favorite paired with crisp apples (or pears). This makes a great snack!

Ingredients
1apple, sliced (see note for how to prevent browning)
1/2cupmaple syrup
3Tablespoonsalmond butter
Optional: cinnamon, vanilla extract, salt
Instructions
Cut an apple into slices. If you have a crinkle cutter, you can use it to make these apple fries, but a regular knife works too. To keep the apple slices from browning, soak them in salted water for 5 or so minutes, then drain, rinse, and pat dry.
To make the caramel sauce, heat 1/2 cup maple syrup and 3 tablespoons almond butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
Stir to combine then let the mixture bubble while stirring occasionally until thickened and caramel-like. It will take a few minutes to reduce and thicken.
You can enjoy as is— but we love it with a sprinkle of cinnamon, vanilla extract and salt.
Now you are ready to serve! This is also a great snack for lunchboxes— you can place the apples in an airtight container to further prevent browning and serve the caramel dip alongside.
