Air Fryer Zucchini Fries

July 28, 2025 Plant-Based Juniors

Jump to Recipe

Quick and easy air fryer zucchini fries! Battered for an extra-crispy fry, then served with marinara sauce for a kid-friendly snack.

Back with another air fryer recipe! I use my air fryer often, especially when I want to create crispy, faux-fried favorites, like our black bean taquitos or cauliflower!

These air fryer zucchini fries are a great way to introduce your kids to zucchini. It took my kids a while to accept zucchini, and I think much of that was due to its slightly slimy texture when cooked.

These fries, however, are the exact opposite. They are crispy and crunchy on the outside and are great with marinara sauce or our cashew ranch dressing. I slice them into fry-like shapes, but you can also slice them into disks.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 2 medium zucchini, sliced into fry-like shapes
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened plain non-dairy milk
  • 1 cup seasoned Italian breadcrumbs
  • Cooking Spray
  • Marinara sauce, for dipping

Instructions

  • Slice the zucchini into fry-like sticks, then toss with the flour until well coated. You can do this in a shallow bag, or add the zucchini to a bag, add the flour, and toss until coated.
  • Place the milk and seasoned breadcrumbs into two seperate shallow bowl.
  • Dip the floured zucchini into the milk and then into the breadcrumbs, taking care to both shake off excess batter and to press the breadcrumbs into all sides of the zucchini. Place on the air fryer tray and repeat with the rest of the zucchini.
  • Once all zucchini has been battered, lightly spray with cooking spray. Place into a 350 degrees F preheated air fryer for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve right away with warmed marinara sauce (also great with our ranch dressing!)
